gidgegannup indoor cricket club

Sir Donald Bradman

The Gidgegannup Indoor Cricket Club was established in 1996 and featured many locals looking for good social occasion and chance to enjoy a semi competitive game of cricket that did not require standing out on a oval in the midday sun.

The first teams took several seasons to settle down and finally make finals. Over the last twenty seasons the club has made the finals everytime and either won or been runner up.

Over that time we have welcomed many a local player to come along and roll their arm over. This season we have welcomed Jeremy Salt, Tigger, and several others who play as work permits. And we currently sit in second spot.

One of the biggest problems has been the need for specialist gloves and bats for the indoor demands. It was with great excitement that we were able to gain an EMRC grant to purchase equipment that both new and older players could use and improve their game. We are truly grateful to EMRC for their assistance via the community grants program.

Of note, we had two of our players travel to Sri Lanka in the last school holidays in representative sides. Additionally we have one player in the State team travelling east in the next couple of weeks.

We are lucky that several of our older players are able to provide coaching assistance and guidance to these players and we wish them all the best.

Anyone wishing to have a go is welcome to come down or contact us.
